The Weekly Pour: Chateau Reverie by Natasha Siegel
Considering we hosted an ACOTAR 6 Pajama Party, you might surprised by this plot twist: we are not doing A Court of Splintered Harmony for this week’s pour. And, honestly, a blog post would not do the event and the faerie wine justice anyway, so we decided to go another route. eature anothe X quietly relocated to a different book entirely. Enter Chateau Reverie by Natasha Siegel — out today, October 27th — a gaslamp fantasy set in the final, chaotic days of the French Revolution, where the only thing more dangerous than the guillotine is a really good auction.
About the Book
Genevieve de Vienne wakes inside the Chateau Reverie with no memory of how she got there — only an invitation to the Auction of Secrets, and a wish she wrote down to forget a woman she once loved. Leander Sterne has never known a life outside the chateau's walls. He has no secrets left to bid, but he's willing to risk everything for his freedom anyway. Together with five other guests, they have three nights to survive the chateau, trade their secrets for their heart's desires, and figure out whether the auction's rules favor anyone at all — including, maybe especially, the winners. The chateau has a will of its own, guests keep disappearing, and Genevieve and Leander keep getting closer in exactly the way you'd expect from a book that is, underneath all that gothic opulence, a romance.
Genre: Gaslamp Fantasy / Historical Romantic Fantasy
Perfect for fans of: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab — both publisher-stated comps, and both exactly the kind of lush, rule-bound, slightly haunted magic this book is going for. We'll also throw in The Phoenix Bride by Natasha Siegel herself, from her own backlist, if you want more of her particular brand of star-crossed and slow-burn.
This Week’s Pour
We're keeping this one close to home — the chateau's, that is: the Veer Chenin Blanc is a classic Loire Valley varietal, which feels right for a book set in the final days of the French Revolution. Crisp, elegant, and just a little bit guarded, which is more or less Genevieve's whole personality.
Not bidding tonight? Order the Tost Non-Alcoholic Sangria — because every good auction deserves a toast, and this one's dressed up enough to belong at the Chateau Reverie.
However you take it: read the fine print before you make a wish, don't trust a chateau with a mind of its own, and brace yourself for a slow-burn romance that's going to make three nights feel like a lot longer than three nights.
