On writing dark themes: Hannah says the darker elements of Deception's Rose actually came easily to her, because the story carries a message of hope — that even in the hardest seasons of life, there is always light to be found, even when it's hard to see.
On her favorite trope: Hannah is a self-proclaimed sucker for the slow burn "will-they-won't-they," and she's especially drawn to companion characters — like Deceit, the sharp-tongued god who shares Rhoswen's head throughout the story.
On her nightstand right now:In the Wake of Ruin, book two in The Siren Mage series.
Format of choice: Audiobooks make the daily commute and chores fly by, though she'll always love the feel of a physical book in her hands.
